1:09 de la mañana: acabamos de hacer el primer vídeo de FlatMotion, para FlatMotion

It is 1:09 AM, July 6. I should be asleep. Instead I have watched the same 63 seconds maybe thirty times in a row, and I am writing this because tonight we made the first video FlatMotion has ever made for FlatMotion. Our own product, our own engine, our own motion bricks. The dogfood moment.
The night it happened
The landing page needed a hero video. Until tonight the hero was three separate demo renders playing in tabs: nice proof, zero story. A presentation film is a different animal: one minute, no voice, five acts, and it has to sell the product to someone who has never heard of it, before they scroll.
So we built it like we build everything here: in the engine, on the beat grid, with the same transitions and kinetic bricks the client videos use. Honesty first: the AI director did not compose this one. I art directed it by hand with Claude, scene by scene, still by still. The director will get there; tonight was about proving the ceiling, how good a FlatMotion video can look when every choice is deliberate.
The first cut was too polite
The first render was clean. Corporate tech music bed, soft entrances, everything tasteful. I watched it and felt exactly nothing. It looked like a video a company makes because it is supposed to have one.
So at midnight the brief changed to three words: drop the chill. We swapped the music for a stadium energy track. The opening is now three giant words slammed on the drum, WEEKS. QUOTES. REVISIONS., each one landing with an ink flash and an impact hit. The whole film breathes on the kick: a micro zoom synced to the beat, comet strokes flying behind the headlines, giant ghost text drifting behind the key shots, and about twenty four sound design cues layered under the bed: whooshes on every entrance, a ticker under the price counter, a riser and a bass drop into the dark finale.
What is in the film
Five acts, sixty three seconds, zero static shots:
- The hook: what an ad video costs today. The slammed words, then the 4 900 euro studio quote scrambling into place.
- The solution: now paste a URL. A cursor types taap.it into a bar and clicks Extract, and the camera dives through the button.
- The demo: the scraper working live. Logo, palette ranked by real pixels, typography, copy, each row landing on the beat until the brand kit is ready.
- The result: an actual FlatMotion render playing inside the film, generated from that same URL. No mockup, the real output.
- The close: the world slams to dark, our mark locks together, flatmotion.io types itself out.
The first of many
This is render one of the product presenting itself. I am keeping it exactly as it shipped tonight, timestamp and all, because I want the receipt. When the AI director composes films at this level on its own, for any brand, from nothing but a URL, this post is the before picture.
It is late. The video is on the landing page. I keep replaying it. That feeling is the whole reason I build.
